What does SyncAcross do?
SyncAcross automatically synchronizes your contacts, calendars and tasks and keeps them up to date. No matter what application you are using or where you are located, your information is always current. SyncAcross stores all of your Contacts, Calendar Events and Tasks on an online server or cloud. Whenever any of your information changes, the server automatically updates all of the other computers, web services and devices you've added to the SyncAcross service. Your information will always be up-to-date.
How does the service work?
It's super easy. Simply add all of the computers, web services and devices you would like to sync to your SyncAcross account. Each Sync Profile you add will connect with our server and upload your contacts, calendar and tasks from that location. With each additional upload, the system will compare the information and look for new entries, changes, duplicates and conflicts. We automatically update the new entries, note the changes, remove the duplicates and help you quickly resolve the conflicts. Not only does your information update everywhere, but SyncAcross also helps clean it up in the process.
What if I want to get my original information back?
All of your original information is automatically backed up on our server. If you ever want to revert back to this original data, just go to the Sync tab, click the original sync you performed and select Revert All. This will automatically revert all of your changes back to the exact data you uploaded to our server. Once reverted, simply sync all of your Sync Profiles and SyncAcross will update your information back to its original condition in each location.
What happens when I make edits?
SyncAcross can sync your information in multiple directions. So, if you set your account to sync two-ways, then no matter where you edit your information, it will automatically sync with all of your other computers, web services and devices you've added to the service. Let's say you add your Outlook, Mac and iPhone to SyncAcross. If you edit a calendar event on your iPhone, this same event will update automatically over-the-air on your Outlook and Mac calendars as well.
How much does SyncAcross cost?
SyncAcross offers a free service to be used as often as you wish, forever. The free service limits syncing between only two Sync Profiles. What should I do if I encounter a problem while using SyncAcross?
We want to know about any issues you run into while using SyncAcross. Please go to our support page http://smb.syncacross.com/support and create a problem report along with a detailed description of the problem. We will track down the issue and get back to you immediately.
I changed my Google account; can I switch to this new account?
Yes, simply go to the SyncAcross web site, click Settings / Sync Profiles and add your new Google account as a new Sync Profile. Once added, press the Sync Google button to update your new Google account. Then, you can delete your old Google account Sync Profile from SyncAcross.
Can I use SyncAcross to sync iCal with multiple Google accounts?
Yes, absolutely. Simply add all of your Google accounts within the Accounts section of the website. They will all sync up with iCal. Only one SyncAcross account is required.
Does SyncAcross work with Google Apps?
Yes! Simply use your domain email address and password when setting up a Google account in SyncAcross.
Why synchronize my data on a server?
The SyncAcross server creates the flexibility and speed to allow multiple platforms to sync in multiple ways while keeping track of the way each platform uniquely manages contact, calendar and task database structures. It also makes it possible for us to adapt to changes in platform APIs without requiring our customers to install new software.
Can I easily cancel and delete my account with SyncAcross?
Yes, you can cancel your account at any time and we will permanently delete your account and all of its contents. No information will remain on our server once deleted. Go to the Settings / My Account tab on the site and click Cancel Account.
How secure is my information?
At SyncAcross, we take data security very seriously. Here are some of the steps we have implemented to prevent unauthorized access to your data:
  1. We validate all e-mail addresses of users who join the Service.
  2. We encrypt all passwords stored in our database.
  3. For web services such as Google, we do not ask for your password, but follow the Google authentication process. Your Google password is never stored on our server. We support Google's revoke feature so at any time you can go to Google settings and revoke access from SyncAcross. This automatically occurs whenever you remove a Google Sync Profile as we remove the Google authentication access token from our database.
  4. SyncAcross automatically signs you out of a session after 10 minutes if you are inactive.
  5. Our secure firewall system protects our network.
  6. To further protect against unauthorized data access, SyncAcross optionally provides 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption technology for users logged into syncacross.com. If this setting is selected, all data transmitted between the SyncAcross servers and the user's computer is fully encrypted during the entire log-in session at syncacross.com.
  7. All of your data stored on our servers is controlled by your encrypted password protection.
  8. Our employees continuously monitor inbound/outbound traffic for any attempts to breach our system's integrity.
  9. Unauthorized access to our systems is in direct violation of the Electronic Communication and Transaction Act 25 of 2002. All access violations are logged and unauthorized users will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

How secure is my credit card information?
You can subscribe to our service by credit card or through PayPal. We understand security is a very serious concern for online payments and that is why we send sensitive payment information through SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and use high-grade encryption to protect all payment information. All of your credit card information is transmitted encrypted, and kept encrypted and password protected. It is not accessible from the Internet or web in any way. To prevent credit card frauds, if the strict automated verification processes fails, we might request additional documentation and/or call your billing phone for verification. This should only occur on your first transaction with us as a trade-off between convenience and security. Your transaction is safe and secure with SyncAcross.
